Here's the intro to the Fan Fic, I actually started a similar fic a while ago but never finished it, I'm hoping to finish this one... It ties in with my other stories somewhat too, seeing as how I'm placing Orenia and Hyrule in the same world.
It takes place 3 years after the end of OoT, and supports the dual timeline theory for LoZ
Just for reference, Malec is 24, Supremus is 17, and Zelda is 19.
Malec Faray is pronounced Mal, Like Malice, ec, like gecko, Far, like far far away, ay, like in the word away.
Supremus Kazega is Soo-prem-us His last name is a bit tricky, It's pronounced, Cozz-Gah.
3 years ago... The imprisoning war finally came to an end as the chosen Hero of Time and the 7 sages sealed away Ganondorf in the Dark Realm. Other heroes also did their part that day, but were never recognized in the annals of history. The Son of Winds and the Son of Thieves stood up to the Evil King's most trusted general, Hroth the Merciless.
Zelda had lost three friends that day, One of which set sail to return to his homeland, the other to find a place to call home. The third friend was lost from this timeline, sent back to live the childhood he lost for the sake of the world.
Present Day... The Royal Castle of Hyrule was finally finished being rebuilt, the new castle town, which had been finished for over a year, surrounded the castle like a barrior. People came and went as they pleased, coming not only to shop in the famed Hyrule Marketplace, but also to seek the wise advice of the Princess, Zelda.
Ever since the fall of the previous castle, as well as the late King, Zelda took it upon herself to lead the restoration efforts to the castle town, as well as to aid those in need who suffered because of the terrible Ganondorf. As tradition dictates, Zelda was still yet to be queen of Hyrule, though the citizens all treated her with the utmost respect that they would to any queen.
The absence of Ganon did not mean his monsters vanished, they continued to attack travelers just as they were instructed by their master. Some humans took advantage of this and used the masterless creatures to their own liking. Naturally warrents were issued for the detainment and execution of these heartless people. A select few of the 'Monster Bandits', as they were now known, did not take this lightly, and attempted to Assassinate the princess in anger. News of this traveled fast and far, reaching the country of Orenia, an entire continent over.
Knowing that Hyrule's Royal Family had helped them in the past, King Orenia sent out one of his Finest Swordsmen to serve as a personal bodyguard for the Princess, Zelda.
Chapter One
Malec Faray, a swordsman in the Orenian Royal Army, had been sent out to serve as a bodyguard for the Princess of Hyrule. Along with him he brought his pupil, Supremus Kazega. Their journey crossed no problems, apart from a few monsters, and they were able to reach the Castle Town in a weeks time.
Supremus' green hair shined as they entered Castle Town at midday. Him and Malec both wore blue jackets and slacks, the uniform of the Orenian Army. Supremus wore his jacket open, showing off his silvery blue Chain Mail, which was gifted to him during his travels a small time back. Malec wore a black hat over his long ochre hair, and his jacket was adorned with medals.
The two marched side by side to the Castle Gates, where Malec presented the letter from King Orenia, stating that they had been sent to serve her highness, Princess Zelda, as bodyguards. They guards let them through and sent for an escort at the main entrance.
As the duo approached the main entrance they could see a higher ranked guard, you could tell because his armor was slightly different from that of the other guards. Malec approached the man. "We have come on request of his majesty, King Orenia the Tenth." He saluted the guard as he spoke.
"Ah, from Orenia, then? We've been expecting you." One of the guards motioned for them to follow as he spoke. "The princess has ordered us to let you into the audience chamber upon your arrival." The pair were lead through the main hall and stopped before a stairway. "I do have one question though, The letter we recieved stated that there would only be one swordsman, yet there are two of you..." The guard asked before granting them entrance.
"He is my apprentice, he goes where I go. If I were to abandon him during his apprenticeship I would be nothing more than scum." Malec said firmly.
"Well put sir, but we were only given orders to permit you entrance, your apprentice will have to wait outside the audience chamber until her highness grants him an entrance as well." The guard stated, looking at Supremus, then back to Malec.
"Not a problem, I shall explain to her this situation then. I would like for her to meet him, as he will be staying with me." Malec then turned to Supremus, "Understood, Supremus?" Malec asked, fully knowing the reply..
Supremus sighed, "Yes, sir..."
The guard lead Malec and Supremus into the castle, and down the many halls until they reached a set of large stone doors. Supremus was made to wait a few feet back from the doors with one of the guards stationed at the entrance to the audience chamber. The higher ranked guard and Malec entered the audience chamber, Princess Zelda four guards, and four advisors standing beside her coming into view. The guard kneeled and spoke. "The emmisary from Orenia has arrived, your highness."
Malec bowed as he took pulled an envelope from his pocket and removed his hat with his other hand. "It is an honor to meet you, your highness."
"What is your name, Swordsman?" Zelda inquired.
"I am Malec Faray, I serve directly under His Majesty himself." Malec introduced himself. "His Majesty has requested that I serve you as a bodyguard. Your father and him were close friends, you see, and after he heard on the attempt on your life, he was worried sick."
Zelda giggled, "He always was a bit of a worry wart."
Malec spoke again, "I also have a request of my own. I have brought along my student in order to further his training, I would like him to serve alongside me, if it would please your majesty, of course."
Zelda closed her eyes for a few moments, as if contemplating this, then opened them and said, "I would like to meet your student first. I can't have a bodyguard I haven't met, now can I...?"
"Very Well." Malec turned and walked toward the door and stood at the entranceway, then motioned for Supremus to enter. Supremus walked up behind Malec, then the two of them entered the chamber. "This is my Student, Suprem-"
"Supremus...Kazega?" Zelda cut him off.
"Hi there, Princess." Supremus spoke in a casual manner one would normally not address royalty in.
"'Hi there?!' Is that all you're going to say?! You take off for three years and all you have to say for yourself is 'Hi There?!'" Her face was bright red as she yelled at him.
The guards and advisors began mumbling to each other inaudibly as Zelda continued scolding Supremus.
"Okay, okay, I get it. I'm sorry. I should have at least sent a letter..."
"I suppose it's okay, now that I know you're alive, at least" The blonde princess sarcastically remarked, folding her arms across her chest.
One of the advisors spoke up. "I hate to interupt this heartwarming reunion, but might I inquire as to how you know this commoner, Your Highness?"
"Yes, please do tell." Malec crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
Supremus scratched his head. "It's kind of a long story, but I'll make it brief... During the Evil King's reign I helped her hide, and assisted her when she needed assistance."
"Mhm. It's true. Him and another boy who went by Draxius helped me out during the war... If it weren't for them I may have not survived those seven long years."
"When the war ended I left Hyrule, I had recieved a letter that morning... My mother had died, so I returned home." Supremus turns to Zelda. "I'm sorry I didn't say goodbye before I left. I don't like saying goodbye, makes me feel like I won't return."
"Your mother...? I didn't know... I'm so sorry." Zelda's tone quickly turned sympathetic, almost melancholy, even.
"It's fine, I know she's in a better place now." He smiled before turning to Malec, "And that's how we know each other, in a nutshell."
"I see..." Malec nodded.
"Oh, I'd assume you two are exhausted from your long journey." Zelda turned to one of the guards next to her, "I want you to give them the two guest rooms. And you are all relieved of your bodyguard duty tomorrow. I trust these two with my life." She then turned back to them, "He will show you the way to your rooms. I'll give you the grand tour once you've finished getting settled in." She smiled.
Malec and Supremus bowed and left, following the guard that would take them to their rooms.
